Website Development & CMS Optimization Contractor (CAPVE)

About the role

The United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) seeks a local individual contractor to maintain and enhance the Central Asian Preventing Violent Extremism (CAPVE) website. Working remotely from Tashkent, you will coordinate technical activities, report progress to the UNODC officer, and ensure high-quality delivery of all tasks.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct a comprehensive technical audit of the current CAPVE website architecture and identify maintenance, licensing, and bug-fix requirements.
• Upgrade the PHP environment and core WordPress plugins, ensuring compatibility, security, and zero runtime errors.
• Test and verify backend and frontend functionality, including navigation, CMS modules, contact forms, user profiles, and the admin control panel.
• Optimize cross-browser compatibility and responsive layouts for mobile and desktop devices.
• Enable system administrators to update content, news, databases, and activities using standard WordPress tools.
• Develop and deliver a one-hour online training session for designated website administrators covering backend updates and content management.
• Provide concise progress reports accompanying each deliverable.

Required profile

• Proven experience in WordPress site maintenance and PHP development.
• Ability to work independently, remotely, and meet project deadlines.
• Strong analytical skills to diagnose and resolve technical issues.
• Effective communication skills for reporting and training delivery.
