National Consultant for Health Needs Assessment in Border Communities

About the role

The International Organization for Migration (IOM), together with the Asian Development Bank and the governments of Uzbekistan and Tajikistan, seeks a National Consultant to lead a mixed‑method health needs assessment of vulnerable groups and mobile populations, including migrant workers, in selected border communities.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement quantitative and qualitative data collection tools to capture health profiles, socioeconomic status, mobility patterns and barriers to health services.
• Analyse collected data using KoboToolbox or similar platforms and produce evidence‑based reports highlighting vulnerabilities, service gaps and priority intervention areas.

Required profile

• University degree in Health Sciences, Public Health, Epidemiology or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of professional experience in public‑health research, preferably on epidemiology, communicable diseases or border health.
• Demonstrated experience conducting health needs or facility assessments and working with international organisations and government stakeholders.

Required skills

• Proficiency in quantitative and qualitative research methods, data collection, management and analysis.
• Experience with WHO health‑facility assessment tools and digital data‑collection platforms such as KoboToolbox.
• Strong analytical and report‑writing abilities.
