Financial Literacy & Business Mentorship Consultant

About the role

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) is seeking a consultant to provide financial literacy and business mentorship to grant recipients under its Central Asia Safe Migration project. Based in Tashkent, the consultant will work directly with returning migrants who have received business development grants, helping them manage assets, develop sustainable income‑generating activities and ensure responsible financial practices.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver one‑on‑one and group mentoring sessions on financial management, budgeting and cash‑flow planning.
• Guide grantees in developing and implementing business plans for sectors such as agriculture, livestock, tailoring, small‑scale production and other micro‑enterprises.
• Assist beneficiaries in the proper use, maintenance and documentation of grant‑provided equipment and assets.
• Monitor progress, identify challenges and propose corrective actions to improve business continuity.
• Prepare concise reports on mentorship activities, outcomes and recommendations for IOM project staff.

Required profile

• Relevant experience in financial literacy training, business development or micro‑enterprise support.
• Proven ability to work with diverse migrant populations and understand their specific needs.
• Strong communication and facilitation skills in English; knowledge of Uzbek or Russian is an advantage.
• Ability to travel within Uzbekistan to meet grant recipients.
