Uzbek-Speaking Steward

About the role

Marriott Hotels & Resorts is hiring a steward in Tashkent who speaks Uzbek. The role covers operating and maintaining cleaning equipment, keeping kitchen and storage areas clean, handling deliveries and stock, and following safety and quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Operate and maintain cleaning equipment and tools, including the dishwashing machine, hand-wash stations, pot-scrubbing station and trash compactor.
• Wash and disinfect kitchen and store rooms, tables, tools, knives and equipment.
• Receive deliveries, store perishables properly and rotate stock; keep clean wares in the right places.
• Use detergent, rinsing and sanitizing chemicals in the 3-compartment sink to clean dishes, then inspect, pull and stack cleaned items and return soiled ones for re-scrubbing.
• Rack and spray items with hot water to remove food residue, sort, soak and wash silverware, and break down dirty bus tubs.
• Empty and maintain trash cans and the dumpster area, dispose of glass in the proper containers, and recycle cardboard and other recyclables.
• Clean and mop all areas in the assigned department.
• Follow company and safety/security policies, report maintenance needs, accidents and unsafe conditions to the manager, complete safety training and certifications, protect company assets, and perform other reasonable duties requested by supervisors.

Required profile

• No high school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent required.
• No related work experience or supervisory experience required.
• Ability to speak clearly and professionally with others and build positive working relationships.
• Able to move, lift, carry, push and pull objects up to 50 pounds, stand, sit or walk for long periods, and reach overhead and below the knees.
