Senior Associate - Tax Reporting and Strategy

About the role

PwC is hiring a Senior Associate for its Tax Reporting and Strategy (TRS) team in Tashkent, within Corporate Tax services and Accounting services. The team helps clients meet their tax obligations while managing the impact of tax on their business, using co-sourcing and outsourcing to align tax investments and talent with organisational goals. The role focuses on coordinating tax compliance activities for direct and indirect taxes, tax accounting and the preparation of statutory financial statements.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate and review the preparation and submission of tax returns (VAT, withholding tax, corporate income tax and other taxes), financial reporting and statistical reports
• Handle tax accounting for representative offices, permanent establishments of foreign legal entities and local companies
• Take part in tax or VAT registrations of foreign companies in Uzbekistan
• Supervise junior team members and dedicated delivery centres by following established procedures
• Contribute to the automation and standardisation of business processes
• Help develop client relationships with existing and new clients and take part in marketing activities such as proposals and seminars

Required profile

• Higher education in finance, accounting or economics
• Good knowledge of Uzbekistan's accounting and tax legislation
• 3-5 years of previous relevant experience in accounting or taxation
• Ability to work with large amounts of data, analyse information, work in a team and communicate results clearly in writing
• English and Russian at intermediate level; Uzbek is an advantage for communicating with tax authorities

Required skills

• Confident use of MS Office (Excel, Word)
• Experience with 1C (version 8.2 or 8.3)
• Experience in bank-client and electronic tax cabinet environments
