About the role
The Procurement Assistant supports the UNODC Regional Office for Afghanistan, Central Asia, Iran and Pakistan in Tashkent. Working under the Regional Representative and the Procurement Officer, the role ensures high‑quality, accurate procurement and logistics services in line with United Nations rules.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare acquisition plans, review purchasing requests, and draft tender documents such as Invitations to Bids and Requests for Proposals.
- Assist in evaluating quotations, negotiating terms, finalising purchase orders and contracts, and maintaining contract databases.
- Manage asset and inventory write‑offs, customs clearance, vehicle fleet coordination, and regular technical inspections.
- Prepare monthly reconciliations for utilities, mobile services, taxi and vehicle washing, and support data collection and reporting.
Required profile
- High school diploma or equivalent; CIPS Level 4 Diploma (or equivalent) required.
- Minimum 7 years of progressive procurement experience (5 years if holding a university degree).
- At least 3 years of ERP system use and 3 years of MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) experience.
- Experience in asset/inventory management, logistics, customs clearance or fleet management is desirable.
