Local Accountant – Uzbekistan (Remote)

About the role

Devexperts is seeking a Local Accountant to manage day‑to‑day accounting operations in Uzbekistan. The position focuses on local accounting, primary documentation, electronic document flow, tax and statutory reporting, reconciliations, payments, payroll‑related accounting, and liaison with authorities, banks and auditors.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain accounting records in line with Uzbek legislation, local practice and internal procedures.
• Process and verify contracts, invoices, electronic tax invoices, payment documents, bank statements and reconciliation acts.
• Manage electronic document flow through local platforms, including archiving and corrections.
• Use the tax cabinet and other official electronic platforms for reporting and communication with state authorities.
• Prepare month‑end and year‑end closing, including bank, tax, AP/AR and payroll reconciliations.
• Support payroll‑related accounting, employee reimbursements, business trips, benefits, fixed assets and inventory.
• Coordinate with tax authorities, banks, vendors, auditors, consultants and internal finance teams.
• Escalate missing documents, errors or compliance risks promptly.

Required profile

• Practical experience in accounting, tax and statutory reporting in Uzbekistan.
• Strong knowledge of Uzbek accounting and tax legislation and electronic document management.
• Fluent in Uzbek and Russian, with good working English.
• Ability to work independently, identify risks and escalate issues.
• High accuracy, confidentiality and attention to deadlines.

Required skills

• Proficiency with 1C or similar accounting software.
• Experience in bank reconciliations and payroll‑related accounting.
