Chief Supervision Engineer (Irrigation Projects)

About the role

Surbana Jurong is seeking a Chief Supervision Engineer to lead construction supervision of irrigation water infrastructure projects in Uzbekistan. The role will ensure compliance with contractual, technical and quality standards while coordinating with clients, contractors and stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage construction supervision activities for irrigation water infrastructure projects.
• Oversee contractor performance to ensure adherence to approved designs, specifications and standards.
• Coordinate with clients, contractors and stakeholders for effective project implementation.
• Ensure compliance with Uzbekistan construction norms and international best practices.
• Manage contracts in accordance with FIDIC or similar international contract conditions.
• Monitor project progress, quality, safety and reporting throughout construction phases.
• Provide technical leadership and ensure timely preparation of project reports and documentation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Water Management, Hydraulic Structures or a related discipline (professional qualifications preferred).
• Minimum 10 years of professional experience, including at least 8 years in construction supervision of irrigation networks.
• Experience working in developing countries, with at least 5 years in Central Asia.
• Familiarity with Uzbekistan construction standards or equivalent international standards.
• Proven experience in contract management and supervision under FIDIC or similar conditions.
• Excellent English proficiency and strong reporting and computer skills; knowledge of local languages is an advantage.
