Programme Analyst, Population and Development

About the role

The Programme Analyst will be based in the UNFPA Uzbekistan Country Office, reporting to the Assistant Representative. This role supports the design, implementation, and monitoring of population and development programmes that align with national priorities and UNFPA strategic objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Contribute to the formulation and design of the country programme and component projects in collaboration with government, academia, NGOs and other partners.
• Ensure high‑quality programme and project design, incorporating lessons learned, policies and best practices.
• Monitor implementation results, analyse trends and provide substantive inputs for project evaluation and joint programming initiatives.
• Guide programme staff in selecting appropriate data collection methods and interpreting results to inform interventions.
• Support the development and enhancement of monitoring systems and procedures.

Required profile

• Relevant academic background in population studies, development, public policy or a related field.
• Experience in programme analysis, project design, and monitoring within a development or UN context.
• Ability to work collaboratively with government counterparts, NGOs, and academic institutions.
• Strong analytical skills and capacity to translate data into actionable recommendations.
